Thank you Nueces County Republican Party for the dedication of the Anne Baumann Memorial library and for honoring Anne who served as a member of the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority's Board of Directors. Anne was not only a strong advocate for conservative causes but was a strong proponent for the American Disabilities Act communities,. She was a big believer in access to public transportation for those affected by disabilities I listened to a story from Rebecca Bradford Art about how Anne refused a ride across the street to catch the bus because she wanted to get there herself. I was proud to be a part of getting Anne on the RTA as a member of the City of Corpus Christi - Government Council. Anne once told a friend of mine that she liked getting on those buses by herself because it let her know that they were accessible to everyone with disabilities. She was a true public servant and one of the fiestiest women I have ever known. She died at age 83 and spent her life standing up for what she believed but would also listen to other ideas. Thanks to Elect Todd Hunter, Ysmael Fonseca for Justice - 13th Court of Appeals, and many others for attending this event, donating books and money to provide great reading material to a new generation of conservatives.
