Carolyn Vaughn knows the value of education. After being forced to drop out of high school to care for her brother with muscular dystrophy, she returned to school as an adult to complete her education. After what she went through, Carolyn wants every child to have the best education from the start. She is 100% committed to helping Texas students succeed and will work to increase education funding for our schools.
Carolyn grew up as one of eight children raised by a single mom. She used to work in the school cafeteria to pay for her meals and help support her family. Today, she is a successful small businesswoman. Carolyn knows what it takes to win against the odds and just what small businesses are up against when they start out. She will work to protect businesses from excessive taxation and regulations and cut needless red tape to help small businesses thrive.
As Nueces County Commissioner, Carolyn Vaughn improved our parks and recreational facilities, built critical new roads, and worked to provide needed drainage for county residents. Carolyn knows that good roads, amenities, and flood prevention are vital to helping our communities prosper. As State Representative, she will continue working to support our roads and infrastructure.
Carolyn Vaughn knows we need to make healthcare more accessible and affordable. One of the best ways we can do that is through telehealth. The pandemic showed us that healthcare needs permanent solutions and Carolyn will work to get them. She supports expanding telehealth and telemedicine and will work to increase their availability for all Texans.
Schools should be places to prepare our children for the future, not indoctrination camps for radical transgender teaching. Carolyn Vaughn opposes Biden’s agenda of forcing transgender ideologies and identities onto our kids. She will fight to keep drag shows and transgender studies OUT of our schools.
No child should have to feel unsafe, but certainly not at school. Carolyn Vaughn came from an abusive home as a child and understands the fear that a traumatized child can experience. Carolyn will work to provide better mental health resources in Texas schools and keep violent offenders off our school campuses.
